Our Staff and Pastors

We have a great staff here at Salem First and they would love to get to know you! Coffee's on us- let's get together.

  • Doug Bailey

Pastor Doug was born and raised in So Cal, spending his summers at Disneyland and Huntington Beach. Before going into full-time ministry he owned a company that manufactured coin operated video games (remember the successful "PONG" game? That wasn't him, that was some other guy). He has been a pastor for over 40 years. In addition to his Master's Degree he also has a teacher's certificate in Oregon, a Doctorate from George Fox University, and more student loan debt than he ever dreamed possilbe. He has been married to his high school sweatheart, Linda, for over 40 years. They have 4 grown children and are now raising their granddaughter Chealsie. In his spare time (whatever that is) he enjoys all things Disney, household projects, gardening, watching Food Network programs and reading everything he can get his hands on. His love for life, his wife and kids is surpassed only by his love for Jesus and serving Him.

  • Trevor Owen

    Associate Pastor

Trevor Owen joined Salem 1st as an associate pastor in 2016 after serving for seven years as the primary pastor at the Lebanon Free Methodist Church. He and his wife Shanette have been married for eight years and have three dependents: a German Shorthair Pointer named Makai and two dumbo rats named Chester and Clark. Though being employed to serve the church is a blessing, Trevor's heart has been to simply serve God in whatever capacity possible wherever he happens to be. This has led him to lead and serve on multiple short-term mission trips, help facilitate youth camps, do video-creation for an international ministry on Maui, peel trees to make telephone poles, and an interesting variety of other ways to be Jesus' hands and feet. He hopes to bring his heart to serve and ability to connect with others to Salem 1st as we reach out to a world needing restoration. And if you like coffee and want to talk, he's always willing to buy and be available.

Pastor Gene served 36 years pastoring in 5 churches in the Oregon Conference of the Free Methodist Church before retiring in 2006. His last assignment was in Grants Pass where he served for 15 years. Since retirement, he and his wife Joyce have traveled and served temporarily in 2 additional churches. He believes senior adults have much to offer but also deserve the special attention a Senior Adult Pastor can provide.
