Childrens ministries

We love our children!  Salem First offers a great place for kids and parents and have an amazing team of leaders focused on sharing God's love and providing security and safety to our children

PromiseLand, our children’s area, is a safe place for kids to learn about God and how to live their lives for Him! Children’s Church meets every Sunday morning for nursery through 6th grade.

1st-6th graders begin in the main church service with their families and are dismissed to class around 10:20. Nursery, toddler, and preschool children (up to 5 years) may be dropped off at the check-in counter before service begins at 10:00am. Classes continue until service ends, usually between 11:20 and 11:30, and each class is taught by a wonderful volunteer teacher and adult or teen helpers.

Our theme is "I'm A Child of God: I Know It! I Live It! I Love It!"

We use our ministry resources to help our kids understand that God loves them, how they can live their lives for His glory, and rejoice in the love He gives us!

We take the safety of our kids seriously. All volunteers are background checked, without exception, every two years (most recently in September 2015). The check-in desk and central lobby are never left unsupervised. Access to classrooms is restricted to those who have applied and been approved to volunteer in our Children's Ministry.

Applications are only accepted from those who have been attending SFFMC for at least six months. Children must be claimed by parents or by the guardian who dropped them off; they cannot be released to siblings or family friends unless previously arranged.

(Those serious guys on the right are Carl and Wes, one of our monthly check-in teams who keep our kids secure and support their teachers during service. Way to go guys!)

Summer Camps!

1st-6th graders have an opportunity to attend either Fir Point FMC Camp in Glendale or Canyonview Day Camp in Silverton. Both these camps give kids an adventure in natural surroundings with adults who care about them and a God who loves and challenges them. Because of the generosity of our church family, scholarship help is available to any families who ask for help to send their kids to camp. Call Rachel in the church office for more information at 503-581-3633.
